1979 Century 230 that My wife bought in 1983 while I was working in Venezuela. Used the crap out of that boat without any grief at all. I think I was 29. Next was a 30' Searay Weekender, then a Searay 390 EC. Now we've got a Searay 310 Vanguard Express. Machine operator for a west Michigan furniture company.

My families first boat was an 18 foot Sea Ray with a 90 Merc I believe. It was vintage 1960 something and my cousin still runs it in Fl. Then the fam. got a 1993 268 Sea Ray Sundancer with twin 470's. No not the motor you are thinking of, the junk ones with the hodge podge of parts that no one liked. The were called 470 because they were 4 cylinders 170 HP a piece. Now I have a 1997 Formula 252 that I bought new with a 454 MPI on a Bravo III. I also have a 24 Skater with twin 2.5's. I am 29 and a Financial Advisor with Prudential Securities in Albany, NY. 1-800-426-8961. If anyone ever heads up to Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains let me know, I live on the lake.

Whew, I got trought that whole post without using the forbidden word and. http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif

Oh yeah, I also have a 1996 Sea Doo SPX and a Waverunner, and an 18 foot Great Canadian Hand Made Mahogany Canoe with TWIN OARS!!! Silent but FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Used dads 85' 21' Bayliner Capri. But first boat I owned was a 32' Challenger snailboat that I reposessed from a friend who welched on a loan. Cool boat, not fast enough.

First legal description boat:
1993 Kawasaki 550 Jet Ski. After all the mods, Milled Head, Performance Exhaust, 46mm Carb. It was and honest 51 MPH stand up. Don't fall at that speed unless you want an enima. http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/eek.gif

First REAL boat:
2000 Baja H2X: I swore I would have a real boat before I turned 30. Made it by 9 months. I've wanted a boat for ten years. I kept pricing myself out of the market. 10 years ago a 17 foot Wellcraft, then the 19' then the 21'. Last year I almost blew it again because I started looking at 27' Fountain Fever. But I finally pulled the reins back in and settled for a 24 H2X that was easily affordable.

"If I can ever get up to a 35' I swear I'll be satisfied!!!" http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif My wife doesn't believe me. http://www.offshoreonly.com/ubb/mad.gif

Oh, Occupation: Unix Junky that is now tackling Oracle DBA stuff.

Wow!! Time warp!!

Lets see.
It all started when I was a young lad of 8 years.
In 1963 Dad bought a used 34 ft Colonial cabin cruiser built in 1959, and for use as a dingy he bought me an 8 ft pram, plywood contruction, and a 7.5hp Merc engine. This little devil could also be sailed or rowed. Later Dad sold the pram, kept the motor, and bought a 9.5ft Glaspar hull.
Then Dad sold the Colonial and picked up a new 1965,36 ft Chris Craft and a 13 ft Boston Whaler w/20hp Johnson for me.
Sold the Whaler in '69 and bought a neighbors 16ft Cruisers Inc tri-hull w/65hp Merc. Had that till '73.
No boats after that until last summer, just good friends and their boats. Well, the wife and I were discussing buying a boat when we spotted this one in a Walmart parking lot and bought it. 1988 Formula 206 LS, excellent condition, low hours. We are the third owners.
We also have a pair of Polaris jet-ski's.
Yeah, I know, "EEK!! LAKE LICE!".
Not all of us ride like idiots.

As for my occupation, I'm a Reliability and Maintainability Engineering Techinician.
Whew!
Currently working for a company in Orlando that builds simlulators for the military. I get to abuse them to see what it takes to break them.....DAMN! Where's my hammer? Oh, the hell with that... pass me the sledge...
