apache or velocity???22ft
im up in the air now please help is the 22 apache or velocity better? in rough water speed and handling which is better?
|
22' VELOCITY hands down.Velocity 22' in the past has more records, more race wins, and more championship wins than the other...IN ROUGH WATER. Personal experience, I've owned 3 VELOCITY'S so far, the first being a 22' with a modified V-8 Johnson 400hp ran 92-94 mph and handled the Chesapeake just fine. Had the boat in the ocean off of OC Md, off the Fl keys, and Gulf coast. Set up properly they will handle more then you will want to put it through, as all VELOCITY'S... Bob

22' Velocity would be faster in calm water. Apache in the chop.
|
Go to YOUTUBE .Type in 22 Apache, Vid's of both boats running side by side in rough.
|
Many of the old 22' Apaches I've seen have what I can only call "questionable build quality." Of course the same can be said of Regal built Velocity 22's.

any more opinions??
|
22 Avanti for rough water. not as fast in calmer water though.
|
2nd the Avanti, its a big boat for a 22. Doing a sit down conversion on one now. I should have some progress piks in a couple weeks as it moves forward. Major dash changes, building a console new interior and complete rerig.

ok thanks again guys

I raced against both brands of boats in A class with our Monza and Maelstrom, I think the Apache a little better in the snotty but the Velocity hands down faster!

That video shows why one runs bungee cords on an outboard race boat.
