Mercury Racing Logo Revised
1 Attachment(s)
It's not as newsworthy as the 540 engine, but Mercury Racing unveiled its new logo on several products at the Miami International Boat Show. What ya think?

I don't like it. That throttle body looks small too and what's up with the 496 spark arrester? Anyway, it's going to make our 525s look out-dated. :(

Sucks- Cause I like the older one that is on all the dry sump 6 drives

The logo that Jason is referring to is what's on the valve covers in that picture, as opposed to what you see here:
https://www.google.com/search?q=merc...+logo&tbm=isch http://ih.constantcontact.com/fs043/...=1111255321301 As for the 520/540 engines.. ...while I agree that the throttle body looks a little giraffe like, that actually improves air flow ever so slightly. It's all fly-by-wire stuff and it looks like the motor for such takes up a little more real estate than the older linkage assembly. AND the "496" metal cage flame arrestors actually flow better than the K&N and other foam elements; especially when you peel off a couple layers. (Raylar tested such some time back.) |
I like the Old Logo.
|
I like it! I think it is a little refreshing and looks more modern. I like the emphasis on the word "Racing"
|
Older logo looks better. I don't like the way the 540 engine looks. The 500 and 525 looked so much better.
|
It's OK. I would rather they unveil a new 1500 QC4V that runs on 100 octane or less, but a logo is just as good I guess.:picard1:
|
I saw it on the new 520 at the AC boat show. The logo was no big thing. I was more interested in seeing the 8.6L? With manifolds and short risers rather than headers badged as 520hp.

New to me. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3700/1...10572421_h.jpg ETA: this is a company with a lot of products. Like all large companies, they need constant refreshening of the brand. Look how many different sizes, applications and marks are in this one shot. |
