The shocker for me at the Miami show was the big white Intrepid quad CC. Salesman said list was 1.2mm (40 something CC with quads, huge tower and some type of center console cabin up front). That boat was sold and they had a contract on another. He said they have a 6 month wait on new ones.....

Some of the huge CC's mentioned here like the Bahama 41 and 39 SeaVee are somewhat bare bones inside, forward seating is an option but several around with nothing up front (which is how fisherman want it). I don't fish but I can do math.....500-700K-1.2mm center consoles could buy me a lifetime of fish dinners at 5 star restaurants!

I have a client with a 52 Viking, nice boat and he argues that it is still way more boat than he needs to fish 25 times a year. In the Bahamas he never stays aboard (crew stays on boat, he stays at the resort) and his 52 catches exactly the same amount of fish as a new 82 would (now the biggest Viking is the 92)!

Here is the thread on my conversion of my 35' Cigarette Awesome into a 28' center console. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...ette-28-a.html. I have always been a fisherman though. I wonder what my teak floors would cost as a factory option! Bob N.

Sunsation brought a couple of their 34 CCs to the Lake Cumberland poker run last summer and I loved the look and layout of them. I'd be proud to own one. Actually thought about it until I called and got an estimate on what it would cost to build a new one. :)

[QUOTE=Cash Bar;4080798]The 42' Cigarette Huntress is an amazing boat. Spent a lot of time on a few. Running 70+ w 8-10 people sipping martinis is kind of eye opening.[/QUOTE

The '42 Cigarette Huntress is no doubt one of my favorites as well, or any of the CC's in the Cigarette lineup for that matter... I also like the look of the Midnight Express

Yeah but didn't you admit a few pages back that you just bought this boat and haven't used it much? How about filling the tanks, go for 100 mile run, get back to the dock and refuel then do some math......Your post is very similar to the guys with diesel pickups sitting on 22.5's, with tons of performance mods and they brag they get 22-25 in city driving pulling a 10K trailer! :D..............I suspect they can't do simple math! :D :D

I know this was an old thread but I have been out enjoying my new boat and forgot all about this thread. So I have filled the boat up a few times, kept track of my distance (via GPS), and calculated my fuel burn. I am averaging 3.2 miles a gallon at a cruise speed of about 37-40 MPH depending on water conditions (when there is a chop I can run slower but when the water is flat it likes to porpoise). With a few blasts at full throttle here and there.. This is in fresh water (Detroit River). Unfortunately I don't have the Smartcraft gateway yet for my GPS otherwise I would be able to get a spot on number for GPH at any given RPM. So right now I am seeing 3.2 MPG and still experimenting with cruise RPM, tabs, and trim, to get the optimum fuel economy. just to recap, 30' COncept w/twin Optimax 225s w/22p Bravo Props.

Yup. That was us. I saw the wall of water and decided to head back to the dock. We sat it out at the dock, then went back out. Just in time for the second round. But we made it to Sugar island and got the cover on so we hung out under the cover for about 30 min or so. The rest of the day was great.
