Anyone used this for paint/graphics
unless you sink your boat and float some water transfer graphics on the lake while its being salvaged off the bottom, i dont think there is a way to coat it.
Lol not the whole boat but small parts. Dash, handles, gauge bezels, etc
i bought the set up a couple years ago. Pretty cool stuff but tricky, you have to be real careful how you dip stuff but it does work well.

I just did all of my dash panels, will hold up as well as whatever clear you use. I had them done by a guy that does it for a living and uses top of the line automotive grade clear (a few coats lol). I did a standard silver on black carbon fiber look. I just have a pic of the gauge panel all together as I am still putting the boat back together. Will get a full pic of the dash when it is all done.

I can lay up real carbon fiber or CF/Kevlar mix panels for under a hundred and have the local waterjet guy cut them to match the current panel. Yea, it's more money, but I'm thinking about moving a few things anyway. That's my plan at the moment. Here are some of the color samples...
Going to do it for a friend here as soon as he gets me the size... I'm doing the blue/black for mine... |
It probabably costs 6,000 bucks a gallon to dipose of the water he has in those big water troughs. Great idea though
I did my valve covers and overflow tanks with it. Its tough stuff - I think they spray it with automotive clear coat when its done.
Carbon fiber carb. bowls would look pretty sweet, I`m gonna have to look into that
