1986 36ft Mirage CC any info please?!?!

Hello all I'm new to site my friend and I just purchased a 1986 36ft mirage cc with bracket on back for trip or quad engines. The boat is a project boat needs a lot of work but I can't find hardly any history on these boats. I'm just tryn to see who might know more then I do and wouldn't mind telling me ins and outs of this boat. Please and thank you.

Make sure there's no square groupers in there as im sure that boat from that time frame was a work horse. Awesome rough water boat. But they do need power to move

That would be a nice way to fund quad motors :evilb:

Check this out, not sure if its the same mirage you speak of. I have a 36 Mirage Made by E. Cortez out of Florida. Mine has inboards, I spoke with his son via email and shared photos of my boat, they said 80% of the boats they made were inboard. Pretty cool history on these boats, I believe the story goes like this. E. Cortez worked for Cigarette making boats, then ventured off to make his own: "Mirage" each boat was hand made, not many of them around.

Is Cortes still alive ? THEY MADE A 29,32 AND 36FT killer boats. I had seen a 36 cc custom cut top deck with 502s in Ft.Lauderdale was dark blue pretty nice. Would like to speak with his son, his dad was a master plugmaker to build molds.

I think Cortes is still alive and his son has been on this forum before. He might see this and chime in on the thread.
