Pretty interesting choice of power.

Imagine if it were installed in a worthwhile boat:)
Lightning headers???

What ya guys think, engine, headers, outdrive, custom fabrication, odds and ends, would this setup be worth it?

+1

What is the exhaust?

35k?

I dont think it was about "this" boat. Read the article, it is about using the LSA in a boat with exhaust below the waterline & prove it can be done with an LSA. Use whatever headers you want. They were on the cheap trying to make an LSA run in a marine environment.

The question is, will it live!

Not a lot of Fab work anymore we have a kit that offers most of the conversion products required

I think a LSA is 16-17K at the dealer, drive, gimbal and such you'd be in the upper 20's but at 556hp and probably 150-200 pounds lighter then a big block it might not be a bad way to go...... if it would live in the marine app.

The lsa is available as a turn key marine package, and has been for several years. The mainstream offshore world is way behind the times on the LS platform. A closed cooled marine LSA is under 18k with a 2 year warranty. We've installed and serviced lot's of them, they make great power and are incredibly smooth. As long as you run premium fuel they seem to hold up very well. The biggest drawback is, you can make the same, or more, power on 87 octane with a 502..

Have they not been running these engines in wakeboard boats for years?
