Carb and inlet what did you use?

What he posted is not correct info.

You can absolutely use your block. It just needs a new rotating assembly with a 4.25 stroke crank and bored .030 over.

That package C_Spray posted looks like a heck of a deal.

Thanks, C but i want to bulid my motor. Relly nice and worth it what you have there!
Any suggestions on the rotating asembly ?
Read that the eagle crank is not the top of the list .
And some use mahle pistons with wiseco rings why?
What about Lunati kit?

airjunky 03-14-2014 11:56 PM

I believe je or srp still offers the hp 500 clone pistons for the 502 stroker ,bout a thousand bux right there

Bulitz 03-15-2014 06:06 AM

Lunati crank ?

Black Baja 03-15-2014 06:40 AM

Callies is my choice on the crank. I like there ultra rods too. That's what's going in my new motor.

Just a heads up I spend a few evenings a week in a machine shop that does alot of custom motors. The Eagle stuff usually needs work main and rod journals all over the place. Scat is much better on machining. My last motor I used a scat rotating assembly that cam balanced $300 worth of heavy metal later it was balanced. Lunati, Callies, Crower all excellent products never any failures and great tolerances. Mahle makes a nice piston but they are a little more money. Je and Srp also great choices for pistons Srp's little less money and will work perfectly fine I would use Molly rings in your build if its going to be NA stay away from gapless rings. Most builders have preferences on parts and the way things are today it usually boiles down to who has the better deals... Hope this post helps you out and good luck with your build one last thing. Get yourself a good oil pan.

As said before you can use your block. I did a 502 into a 548. I went with a Eagle crank and rods (H beam) becasue of price but I think it did need some machining. With JE pistons. The combination did 629Hp on the Dyno and as has been holding together for 4 season running it hard here and there too, probably around 50 hrs a year.
