You know, on the one hand I’ve got to congratulate everyone involved in this project on the results they’re seeing. That’s one heck of an impressive number they’ve put up. Just ten years ago a number like that was unthinkable.
On the other hand, I have a concern. I would propose that top speeds have increased at a rate far greater than safety. What this means is that more and more boats are going far faster than they are capable of being safely driven. This puts not only the driver and passengers at serious risk, but also puts anybody else who happens to be out for a spin on the same body of water at risk. It’s hard enough picking out and avoiding obstacles (wakes, waves, debris, kayakers, etc.) at 100 MPH. Now speeds of 150 MPH and more are getting all too common. There are a very small number of people capable of driving a professionally rigged, full canopy race boat on a closed course at that kind of speed. The number of recreational boaters capable of the same feat in a non-canopied boat on an open lake is zero. |
^^^^^^^^ ooh boy here we go..

H Y ? So many safer ways to get a thrill.... Skydive Zip line Heroin.....injected directly into your heart. I respect the pros, despise the fools in public access waterways. Selfish desire needs to take a second to common sense. I have been running high 60's on the inside (icw) alone and been passed within 20' by a v screaming by like I was trolling. At that moment, I was wishing for a deck mounted .50 cal. Phucking reckless. Phucking stupid. Wanna kill you? Fine! Wanna kill me?...... P R O B L E M ! |
Sounds like a bunch of blowboaters complaining! :party-smiley-004:
Congrats to all involved and thanks for reporting the exciting news! This is what OSO is all about! |
