Can I use this thread instead of starting a new one?

#5s just arrived this week. Need to keep an eye out for props.

1050-1100hp #5s on boxs notched transom, prob even with surface or slightly below, boat is 1990 Gun.
want to turn 6000 rpm (+?) and try to acheive 100mph, possible?
What prop? I would like to try 5 blades. I'm no expert, but I;ve heard the amount of cup in the blade really influences how the boat planes and carries through the water.

While top speed is great, I would give it up for handling and mid range "punch", acceleration.

Thoughts? Input on proper setup?

Sorry I missed this. Go even with the bottom, or even 1" above so you can space down. Do your boxes have 3 sets of mounting holes or just 1?

I like even with the bottom best. I`m running 17 3/4 x 28 to 6000rpm. lose to 900 hp . so you`re going to be somewhere in the 30 ish pitch range I`d guess?

Your transom isn't notched, should allow him to go up about 1" higher.

Maybe I~m gonna call Rick G and then you`ll have to take that back!!

I know the #s aren't ideal but that's where it really comes to life.http://goo.gl/5uQeST

having a bit of a dilemma, I'm building a pair of 509's for my boat now. Budget is only so big, do I build them 9:1 leave the cams and lifters and try to find a reasonably priced pair of blowers or build a max effort solid roller n/a at 9.8:1 getting 690-700 hp at 6100 rpm? just worried I won't be able to get them to 6000 with the prop diameter I need.
