My Buddy john is a bit older then I am. Hurt his back when a when fell off his 900 hp Willys . In the hospital for weeks and wore a brace for nearly a year.
Sold his 50 Marauder for a new 52 MTI. He added the air ride seat.
He now uses the boat 3 days a week in all conditions. He thanks me every time we talk about the boat for hounding him to by it!

Sitting down places almost twice the pressure on intervertebral discs compared to standing pressures. For a bad back your best bet is to keep the knees bent. Absorb as much shock into the legs as possible. Good luck and happy boating.

I was effraid most would say long v hull! Air ride sitting must be a big plus but not surprised most go with bolster type seats instead of sitting. Hopefully someday I can at least try a cat and feel the difference!!!

4k hp i bet that monster eats a ton of fuel... and when its time to freshen the 4 engines and drives. take out a second on your house....

i would think the biggest heaviest deep v you can afford, the magnum 80 if the ultimate smooth riding but its a huge boat... there is a 41 apache on oso with 540s that runs 72mph that might be a candidate for you

There are a couple of these collaborations between Randy and Reggie that are out there. This might be where I would look on a budget.
BIG boats, comfortable rides, and reasonably priced. (The one above is sans power.)

Get an Airborne Cat. Huge, fairly quick, and rides smooth all the time. And yes, it's a stand up bolster!
