A car or boat's "shine" is due to a polished surface, not really a wax. A polished car without wax or sealant will look 10x better than a car with 5 layers of wax that's never been polished, for example.

Also detail enthusiast (autogeek and detailers bliss) and this is 100% correct.

I might have to try some "polish" on the boat and two Mustangs.

After starting this thread I realized that there are a lot of variables. I can get away with once a year wax because my boat is white and yellow (not dark). It stays in a garage when not in use and I live in the north. A darker color boat like that red Cig would probably need a lot more care to protect it from the sun, as would a bout used in Florida or a boat that stays in the water or outdoors without a full cover.

Now, about the panda sex....

Collinite 845...tried just about everything on the market this is the best I've used. Not the easiest to rub off but definitely worth it

Collonite 845 is great stuff. The key to easy removal is not to put it on too thick. Keep it thin and do only small sections at a time and you'll love it.

OMG Collonite is the worst , I~m having flashbacks!! After I put it on I wanted to burn the boat, that stuff is the worst to get off, I tried everything. I took that can and put a .45 hole in it

Collonite Fleetwax is the best stuff I've used by far.

If you put it on thick - or in direct sunlight - oh yea, it will be a bear to get off.
