The trend in this country to "hate the rich" is out of hand. It seems ok to do nothing and be rich (AKA Kardashian lifestyle) but to earn and spend is seen as un-American. There was recently an article on how the wealthy in NYC (5th Ave types) directly employ over 153,000 people in NYC to service them either directly or indirectly. So if you hate the rich, then they all move out of NYC then 153K people will be unemployed......yeah that sounds fun!

I generally like matts articles, but i question whether he even read the article. Just because it doesn't idolize the boat like everyone on this site doesn't mean that the article deserves to be punished. It's for CNN, not a boating so it doesn't have to be all positive about the boat or the industry. It probably needed that slant for the article to give it some interest to the general public.

The article was more than balanced. It told a brief story of Gino and his rags to riches story. Larry Goldman talkin positively about it as well. The only negative was Wilson saying it wasn't to his taste. And I think most people would discount his view, or question it, when looking at the photos.

How you can say he article doesn't answer it's own question defies belief. It had Gino and Larry talking gushingly about the boat against the one negative. Also it's bordering on laughable for Matt to say its unbalanced. That article is far more balanced than I think anything Matt is capable of even writing. When was the last time he devoted time in an article to question the design of a boat. He doesn't. He doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds him.

As one positive, that one article will probably be one of the best articles for the promotion of that boat, MTI, Gino and the industry as a whole to the general population in 2014.

The problem with the article, I was never told it was going to be a debate. I was asked questions about the boat and why I did it. I had no idea they were planning on ripping the boat and myself apart. That's why Mat said it's one sided.
Why would I want to get in a debate about a boat I just spent a year building?
What make Quentin Wilson an authority? Why not al interview a Lamborghini enthusiast or a Performance boat guy? Not a has been brit that would take an MG over a Lamborghini.

During the interview I made it very clear I am not "extremely wealthy" as she said. I do not own a "restaurant chain".
She wrote the article like I'm a billionaire and have nothing better to do with my money.
If it was a debate, she should have came back to me after she spoke to Wilson. He ripped apart everything I said. I wasn't giving the opportunity to do the same.

Thanks for posting Matt, I wouldn't have read about this otherwise.

I stopped watching Communist News Network shortly after I took a job in a prison.
I stopped watching Marxist Sons of the National Broadcast Company shortly after I took a job in Metro Detroit.

When I want to see the results of the great social experiment, I go to work and cringe, make my money, give half right back to the "cause", cringe again, and then go back and do it over again.

When I want to see what I'm WORKING to own in 10-15 years, I come to this site or go on vacation and scope out the marinas.

"If you're under 30 and a Republican, you lack a heart, if you're over 30 and a Democrat you lack a brain." Famous quote, must have been either Morgan Freeman or Abe Lincoln according to the memes on the interwebs. LOL

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

Winston Churchill

Here is another of my favorites from the same man

I think you came out of it looking good. The British tabloid press (Quentin) doesn't waste much time on facts, rather, they love to label people to suit their purposes and take conversations out of context. Given that factor I thought they were remarkably even handed (given the people involved)

Looking forward to your next project.
