dang I guess I need to find a new forum. Having had a Formula 233 and now a Donzi minx i'm just not cool enough to lurk around while I save my money for a bigger boat. I guess I'll just have to come back in a few years when I can finally afford a 30+ ft boat without getting a loan.

I know, I feel the same way... I will take my Classic 1988 Baja Sport 226 and start a 30' and under website... All makes and models are welcome

I just ignore it, its all about being out on the water and having fun doing it. my 24 foot Liberator runs faster than my buddies 30 foot scarab, It also runs faster than my other buddies 26 foot checkmate, It also runs faster than my other buddies 32 foot Pachanga, it also runs faster than another friends formula, faster than another friends nordic. These are all considered "Offshore Boats" that I drive right past them with my bathtub, heavy Liberator. I posted that I bought a new boat and the deal I got. I was looking for pros and cons, not to see who thinks they regulate this forum!!!!

I don't think there's a more solid and heavy 24 than your Liberator, I think it's kick ass that it leaves some of those other boats behind.

You've got an awesome attitude and a doggone nice ride for 4 bones
Way to go!!!:coolcowboy:

See ya,
Kelly

A bit of trivia on Crownline. The boats produced prior to the mid 2000's were designed by Bobby Carlson, son of Art Carlson. If you look closely you can see some of that Glastron-Carlson heritage in the lines. That's what drew me to the boats years ago. They are not a particularly fast hull, but are great at what they were designed for. I've repowered over 20 of these boats with power up to 700 HP. They actually handle pretty well at 75-80 mph on smooth water. I've been in a lot of boats that would scare the crap out of you at those speeds. There was once a guy who actually raced a 225CCR in OFFSHORE races in the late 90's. Ran in the P5 class with a Procharged 502. So, does that make it an offshore boat??? I dunno.

Yes!! The Boat was called XTREME AIR P5-18. We ran that boat in Poker Runs and 2 years in APBA and OPA as well as SBI. Not the fastest boat out there but it sure was alot of fun.. After all that we didn't even have a stress crack.. Blown motors and drives yes but the boat stood up to every thing we threw at it.. I still think about all the fun time I had in that boat.. Good choice. Enjoy your new toy.

My first two boats were Crownline's. A 182BR and then a 266LTD. Both were great boats. Owned the 266LTD for 13 yrs before buying a PowerQuest 380 Avenger. Am a member of both crowniehq.net and OSO. Fortunately, there are some good people here, and not too many, like the arrogant azz that gives boaters a bad name.

Congrats on the purchase. One of my closest friends has a Crownline 225CCR. It is a very nice boat. I came close to buying one myself before I bought the 266LTD. The crowniehq.net is a great site and very welcoming to all boaters. Don't let one a-hole keep you from learning from the great sources here.

Does that mean a Fountain 32 could be on your new website? :)
