01,3500, 6spd, 4x4, Dodge Dully, NO Problem...... :D :D

I also tow in OD but I also have a chip that holds the trans in OD alot better. Im only at about 7500 pounds. I ran w/o the chip once and couldnt believe how easily it sliped out of OD.

It has pulled my Cig. Playboy form South Carolina to Florida three time adn I hav never shifted out of OD

I pull in OD also. If it does start "hunting" like Wannabe said, I also disengage the OD. The fan clutch does create quite a bit of noise, but look at the fan and you can see why. The Cyclone fan eliminates a great deal of the noise, until it engages and it is actually louder that the stock fan. There are many bad reports on the 4R100s out there, many I am sure well deserved, but I have had very good luck with them. I am on my 7th PSD now, all with the 4R100s, all chipped and 3 of them running propane. I also make sure the convertor is locked before I "hammer" it. A BD Torque Lock helps this greatly. I towed a 28 Nordic Heat from Dallas to Ottawa straight through 31 hours. I only used the OD once up to highway speed and up the hugh hills on the Eastern side of the Mississippi. No problems with the 1999 F-350 PSD! :D

Towed it home 3 weeks later, towes like it's not even there. Just ask the fellow in the Boxter I passed in Southern Ill. He was so supprized when I passed him at 85 mph he caught up to me and smiled and waved!!!:D

Never take it out of OD. 124K miles. Never a problem.
Approx 15K towing miles.

It should be fine . The trouble is too much shifting heats up the trans and slipps the clutches too much . Just control the shifts . If you doing 50 don't run in OD because it will constantly shift and tear it up . When your out on the highway running on flat ground and 65-70+ shift it into OD it let it roll !!:D Besides you can't get much more then about 90 without high gear ! You need it !:cool:

I swtch it in when up to speed on all my trucks.

I have 105,000 miles on my '99 F-350 PSD. No tranny issues at all. Mostly pull in OD because I'm usually going 75 or better. If I'm around town or towing at around 60 I'll turn the OD off.

BTW I've anly done oil changes and brakes on my truck. I Love it.

97 F250 HD 4x4 PSD 5 spd Manual (OT)

Just got mine 3 weeks ago. 70 mph = 2500 rpm in 5th with 4.10's and 285 tires. I only tow 5000#, but wow, she doesn't even know it's behind us. Put her in 1st hi, and at IDLE, let the clutch out and pull up the ramp. Or goose it and catch 2nd on the way up (only 30' ramp). No telling what it would do in 4lo range.

A buddy is pulling his 33 Outlaw with a 1500HD in OD also. No problem.
