SOBRIETY CHECKS ON THE RIVER

Boaters in the Cuyahoga River may be asked to take sobriety tests tommorow night, the result of a joint operation by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft, the Cleveland Police Department and the Coast Guard. Along with the sobriety checkpoint, officers will inspect boats for safety equipment and check to see whether they are properly loaded. The checkpoint, intended as both a deterrent and an educational opportunity, is the third such operation this summer.
