boat raffle

Boat raffle ?

dereknkathy 05-04-2014 08:08 AM

180 $1000 tickets is $180,000. ok, round up to 20k. I don't think u will find 20 guys with 1000 to risk on a 1 in 20 shot at this boat. I don't think u will find 200 guys with 100 to risk for a 1 in 200 shot. maybe 2000 $10 tickets, or 1000 $20 tickets. 500 $40 tickets? these are numbers people could afford to lose.

Shhhhhhh!

Craney 05-04-2014 09:37 AM

They tried this years ago and it didn't work then and the tickets were $300.00 each for a 37 AT.

No one's going to buy $1000 ticket, I'm with Derek on this one 500 $40 or 1000 $20 tickets, but I still don't think this will work either. Good luck,

What happens if you only sell 1 ticket for $100? Is the raffle cancelled or does the 1 person still win and you're out?

Assuming your post is a typing error.

As stated $1000 at 180 tickets = $180,000.

180 tickets at 1000. each.did i read that right or did you have a type o ?

Anybody with a thousand dollars to gamble against bad odds isn't interested in a 1989 Baja.

lucky strike 05-04-2014 10:17 AM

I like the idea.... If i could sell 300 tickets at
$100 each. It would work for me for my boat.

Any takers? lol

Fenderjack 05-04-2014 10:30 AM

No 28 foot Baja in the world worth 180,000.

Craney 05-04-2014 10:53 AM

When I got in on the raffle for the AT I think they had to sell 300 tickets for the raffle to go off. I think they sold 230 tickets or something close to that, in the end they sent my check back.

That website is not a good guide - more of a place to start.
