4.5 inch turndowns needed with an 8 inch drop.

Where to buy?

Tinkerer 05-09-2014 09:02 PM

No one has a suggestion???

fantastixvoyage 05-09-2014 09:03 PM

Turndown 4 what?

Tinkerer 05-09-2014 09:30 PM

Exhaust turndowns to put the exhaust into the water instead of adding mufflers. I have dry headers and want to quiet it when off plane.

All these dudes are serious around here bro! It's all about safety, drivers courses, F950's for a 27 fountain, and center consoles!

You don`t want that donkey dick on your boat dude. if its too loud you`re too old. :D

Tinkerer 05-10-2014 08:47 AM

Hey - I LIKE it loud but I would like to take the boat where they frown on loud noisy boats.
When you are taking it off the trailer with a cold engine I have to run it at 2500 RPM for at least 30 seconds before it will idle. Have heard thank you's from people when I shut it off.
You know it is loud when performance boaters say that.
At Hardy the sheriff told me " nice boat ".

Ha! I hear ya, its nice to hold a conversation coming back to the dock without yelling at each other.

Tinkerer 05-10-2014 10:49 PM

Does anyone make these to order - or is there anyone in west Michigan that makes tails. It looks like the ones advertised are 90* Because I have dry tails that don't exit the transom at 90* I need ones that are between 45 and 60*.

Seems like you could find an exhaust shop that has a mandrel bender and make your own then polish. Slightly expand one end and slit it. Weld on bolt tabs to clamp it.

Nykamp 05-11-2014 10:32 AM

Go see Ben he makes all the time for the spring lake and GH hot rods.

Rick G 05-11-2014 11:26 AM

Any big rigg exhaust shop can make . They have the 90's in stock and also the spreader to make them slip on .

Do you have Ben's number and address?

Is there anything special about the turndowns? Are they just hollow? And do you need a flapper on them if you already have the internal flapper in the exhaust system?
