Water leaking into bilge area

Hello all

I took my boat out this past weekend and everything was fine until I looked in the bildge area. It seems like the water is coming in the bottom of the inner gimbal housing. It looks like it would be where the drive exhaust would be hooked up. I have above thru hull exhaust.

I am assuming it might be the plate that blocks off the exhaust or the transom seal.

This a bravo 3 drive. Has anyone had this issue or can help me shed some information on this thanks. I just replaced all the bellows, hose and shift cable.

Thanks

Check the bellows...

It is most likely a bellows. I would be surprised if the block off plate was loose unless it was not installed correctly. It is also possible that it could be the upper pin leaking at the tiller arm

Put drive 3/4 of the way down. Grab the skeg and try to lift it straight up. If you feel any play, it is most likely getting past the upper pivot pin seal. Do a search, there is a kit to fix it wothout pulling entire gimbal off.

Had this happen 2 years ago after mechanic worked on boat. Thought it was bellows. So replaced, dropped in at ramp and still water coming into bilge. Ended up being the shift cable bellows as when the mechanic put clamp on it, it pinched it. Could not see it as it was on the back side until I got my camera phone out and took a pic.
