Any crystal river advice?
Late notice but headed to crystal river tomorrow for a quick weekend away. Plantation inn was booked so plan b was older / cheap hotel. (Port?). Bringing a 20ft bow rider setup to wakeboard. Mostly a ride around with GF and her 8yr old. Any advice?

Don't stay at the port,,, it's a dive.
There is a new holiday inn express, and a Hampton inn. Lots of manatee zones. You can boat to crackers for food and drink. Homassessa? Monkey island has a couple of place on the water. |
Wildman is correct. Tons of seacow zones and seacow nazi's in kayaks screaming and yelling. Homosassa is more laid back. Good restaurants and bars on the water. Heres a coupla of places to stay that are on the water and have docks. http://www.macraesofhomosassa.com/ http://www.hotelsavings.com/booking/1039988
http://www.seagrasswaterfrontandresort.com/ Restaurants and bars accessible by boat; monkey bar ( riverview ), the shed (macraes) the freezer (possibly the best shrimp on the planet),manatee pub, seagrass, old mill (small boat) and natures resort. |
BRING SPARE PROPS !!! Or stay in the channel....Lived in Homosassa for a couple years, only took me 5 sets of props to learn the river..... The palm tree at Riverhaven? Most are mine... LOL!
