Now that is a big Fountain

Passed this over the weekend on the way to Ginnie springs. I bet this beast can be a lot of fun out in the ocean.

No clue as I was just driving by on i-275 and it was headed north. We were near Ocala.

Those drives look beefy though.

verbi69 05-22-2014 01:05 PM

From the looks of things a 48' express cruiser with Arnesons drives.....

I'll have to keep an eye out for that sucker this coming October, WOW.

offshore312 05-22-2014 03:09 PM

I could have sworn that I passed that rig on 264 near Greenville NC Saturday afternoon.

That ocala shot was about 8pm on Fri so I am sure they had to stop. That could be 100% the boat you saw.

gota go fast 05-22-2014 06:26 PM

that looks just like one that was for sale at the Sarasota Boat Show a couple weeks ago. it sank part way and had three brand new Cummins put in it, if its the same one from the show which looks close to it

I was speculating that it may have been headed to the factory, but having just come from the factory, there is not much going on there on than a graveyard of molds

stimleck 05-22-2014 08:03 PM

arent they building baja's there now?

Nice boat! Are friends use to have one !

offshore312 05-22-2014 10:07 PM

Don't know for sure. The employee parking lot was full of molds, and abit overgrown with grass.

DirtyMoney 05-22-2014 10:27 PM

Hoping to close on one next week myself!

Saw one last year that was for sale out here in Huntington Beach. Exact same setup with Yanmars and Arnesons. Wanted it REAL bad, but the $$$ was just too high.

Captain Nick 05-23-2014 07:47 PM

Not only is the Fountain long, but really tall as well.

verbi69 05-23-2014 08:38 PM

There is one around my neck of the woods with triple 700 Mercs and Arnesons, reported top speed is 90+.

ICDEDPPL 05-24-2014 10:27 PM

I disagree.

ICEDPPL, you can be quite humorous there.

Waterboy123 05-25-2014 05:23 AM

This is the 48 with trip 700's. Moves out for a big boat.

That's hauling the mail for that beast.

Too Stroked 05-25-2014 02:48 PM

Are you sure that's not one of the two 65' Super Cruisers that Reggie built before giving up on the concept?

SummerObsession 05-25-2014 08:12 PM

I looked at 48 Express with the Yanmars and surface drives also, but Yanmars didn't have a good rep service wise at LOTO, and Fountain was not in business so I was worried about parts.
They are one hell of an express cruiser though for sure! Nice rigs, pretty rare I think.

242LS 05-25-2014 08:43 PM

Running with a 47 Fountain

Here's a 47 Fountain with triple Arnesons:

Bigger AND Faster is always better

Here's a fast beast.... 140ft length + 28ft beam + 20,600HP (2 Paxman Deisels and 2 Lycoming gas turbines, triple water jets) = $30M => 74MPH

ICDEDPPL 05-25-2014 09:00 PM

Captain Nick

Like he said... going fast that thing will melt a credit card!!

Captain Nick 06-01-2014 09:35 PM

Very true about the show being in Chicago. I hardly ever go out to Chicago. I do enjoy going to Chicago when I get the chance.
