Mechanical fuel pumps gph?
Hello all.
I'm putting together a 517cu in. Bbc engine. Big brodie heads and brodix hvh intake 900 cfm carb Approximately 700 hp Looking at the holley mechanical fuel pumps and I'm not sure I I should go with the 110gph or the 130gph. Any thoughts? Thanks, rob |
Go with the 130 pump. Much nicer pump.

Check out the CV Products BBC billet mech FP. Our NA engines are 780 HP and we hold 6.5 lbs FP at WOT with no return lines needed. We installed a 1/8" pipe fitting in the top of the CV pump to re-route any fuel to the flame arrestor/carb if the FP diaphragm was to rupture. This should be close to bolt-on with little or no re-rigging required.

Thanks guys!
Ben.....I'll call CV on Monday. I just bought some two pin gilmer pulleys from them for my dry sump setup. Awesome folks at CV for sure. |
I ran Clay Smith on my blower engines 925hp. They work perfect! Very nice 6 valve 140gph pumps.

http://www.claysmithcams.com/fuel-pumps/ It says it puts out 14psi. Thanks for the link. Looks like a nice pump and price is great. Also, did you somehow vent it to the carb? |
Tell them you need the marine pump and it will come with a vent. Yes I have a regulator on my set up!

Here is what the pumps looked like installed on my engines.

anyone use those holley billet pumps? why are they so expensive? $450+ ?
|
That's what the Ultra's (200+GPH free flow) cost : http://www.jegs.com/p/Holley/Holley-...34184/10002/-1
The HP Billet's (170GPH free flow) are $299.00 BTW, thanks. I did not know the Ultra's where available yet. I must be behind the times and getting old. LOL. |
