I just replaced my first set on Maxxis tires that I bought 4 years ago. Never had a blowout or any problems with them. I replaced them with 6 new Maxxis 235/80/16. They still had tread but I replace because of age. Discount Tire has the best prices.

If you are going to do Maxxis this is the best place http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-NEW-235-80...d10e91&vxp=mtr
I just got mine after comparison shopping for a few weeks and it is definitely the best deal. Discount tire looks cheaper until you tack on all of the fees when you go to check out.

Tire Rack is a great company but beware of other internet tire companies!

I bought 6 brand new tires for my trailer in 2008 and within two years they were dry rotted out and blowing up. I come to find out they were made 10 years earlier and who knows where and how they were stored before I got them!

GREAT tire for trailers. I ran them on my last trailer, replacing as the old ones went. The Transforce is what Myco was shipping with at the time which is why I went that way.

For 16' wheels on a tandem, triple, or more axle trailer, I would absolutely run LT tires, and NOT ST tires.

On a single axle trailer, I would run ST tires, but get the heaviest thing you can find (most ply/most capacity).

On my Myco, I have 6 - 16" Goodyear LT tires, and two mounted spares. (Replaced with same Goodyear LTs they came with, which lasted from 2004-2013 without a single issue, with travel all over the eastern US.)
On my single axle cat trailer, I have Maxxis 15" D-rated ST (trailer) tires, and one mounted spare.

My Myco has 16 's and I use E Load range truck tires- Never a problem. I have a double axle trailer and the sticker says 16.5 but someone put 16's on it.

I like that most places I go have a discount tire, so they get my business. Walmart is everywhere too

Strictly speaking convenience, I've found Tractor Supply Company has a good stock of sizes.
