Jabsco Dipstick Adapter
Before I purchased my Jabsco 12V oil changer I had borrowed a friend's. His was set up to pull the oil right out of the top of the dipstick housing (or whatever it is called) and it worked really fast and well. My kit came with a long skinny line that went down into the dip stick housing and didn't do all that great. After talking to our marine shop the owner told me the dipstick housing on our 496 actually goes down to the bottom of the pan and that the top of the housing has a threaded end for a changer.
My question is this, where can I find either the female threaded part or the rubber female part that goes on top of the dipstick housing? I found something on West Marine but they are calling it a probe adapter, I think that is what I may already have. Thanks for the help in advance. |

yes its garden hose thread .just got my new pump and it came with it .i tossed it out just slip the hose over the end of the tube it works perfect

I have the kits that screws into the oil pan where the drain plug is . Hook it to the 12V changer and you're sure to get almost all of the oil out. Filters mounted on transom. Can change oil & Filters both engines in 20 minutes clean and easy.

I have 496's too. 3/8 id tubing fits perfectly over the stainless tube. Convert your pump to 3/8 and it slides over the line and seals as soon as you turn it on.

On your engine oil dipstick tube you have the center portion of the tube that is extended from the garden hose adapter connection. We just put a tight fitted hose over that center portion of the dip stick and suck the motor oil out that way with the Jabsco electric oil changer pump for heavy duty use. We do not even mess with screwing on the garden hose adaptor to the engine dipstick tube. IMO it works better the way I just mentioned with no possible air leaks especially if you put a tie wrap around the hose. Less time and less mess without jacking with the garden hose adaptor screwing it on & off, just another added bonus.

Just use 3/8 lines... Buy the 300GPH transfer pump at Harbor Freight, put a 3/8 fuel line on it and you are in business for $19.95. |
