You expected to get the new boat at cost? Why would they build a boat they won't make any money on? I could see honoring the original agreement and maybe throwing in an option or two for your hassle.

I'm not criticizing b/c everyone is entitled to their opinion or how they might have handled this differently (which is the feedback I encouraged) BUT IMHO making no $$ yet not losing any $$, but gaining a customer, referrals & potentially a repeat customer far outweighs the fallout from this experience. I even brought them a party interested in becoming a dealer. A buyer for my boat & a potential dealer is a fair amount of goodwill on my part w/o receiving anything more than a demo from them.

By that last quote I see that you have alot of customer service running through your blood.... I would have made it work just for the good rep that would have come out of it.. But thats how I run my business..Most people in the business world just dont get it.

Well, even without the specifics filled in it's a shame that we hear things that make us shake our heads, even from the few builders and dealers that survived the Great recession.
Stick to your guns NASCAT, other people are more than willing to sell you something you will want and use.
Now, you wouldn't want to share that little number that was $15k lower than trade would you?
