Mercruiser HP500 Carb - SN location

My air cleaner does not have the engine SN legible anymore. Where on the engine is the alternative location to find it? A photo would help immensely.

As you're looking at this pic to the top right of the timing chain cover you will see a small area where the black paint was removed . This is where mine is stamped , don't know if all HP500's are .
