Cool 3' to 5's and all is well!

Thought I'd report in for any of you guys considering this run.
IT WAS AWESOME!!
Actually started kinda ****ty when we headed out Friday afternoon.
We left Marble Head on the South shore in 4' to 6's to head for Pelee.
This was my first run after up-grading from standard Bennett trim tabs to their new "Spot Tabs".
I did'nt have one of the supply lines plugged in/tighten'd properlly and blew it off and dumped a qt. of ATF in the bildge right off the bat.
The best part was spending 25 miles looking at clouds
Was'nt too bad though as the waves were quartering into the starboard bow.
Repaired them at Pelee, and love these things!! Can now keep my boat on a level plane at 20 MPH, could only slow to about 30 before!!
This is an awesome improvement for rough water running. Of course did everything else better as well, but that was the improvement I wanted.
Spent Friday night at Wes Marine (same harbor as Scudder), had an awesome dinner at the Anchor and Wheel Inn (Pickerel stuffed w/crab!!) , and then "partied with the locals" at the bar at the harbor (can never remember the name).
Left Pelee Sat a.m. for the 15 mile run to Leamington in 3' to 5's.
Same quartering seas on the starboard bow until about 1/2 way over where it switched to port.
Still no problem, and since it was coming mostly out of the North we started getting shelter the closer we got to land.
Ran the first 10 mi.'s @ about 30 - 35 and the last 5 @ about 55.
Only about 3 mile vis so you definately need a chart and compass if you don't have GPS.
Leamington was awesome as always!
Had a dock reserved and when yo call them on the VHF they tell you your dock #, where it is, and then ask if you want to bow in or stern in.
When you answer, they will tell you which side to put lines/bumpers on and be on the dock waiting on you.
We won 2nd place in the Black Beards Rendevous costume contest and got a free nights dockage for that.
The funniest thing to watch (I'll post pixs later) was Black Beards Court.
You can accuse a crew member (and vice versa) of anything you want.
If found guilty (they always are) they either get a pie in the face or have to walk the plank.
My "boat wench" was found guilty of letting her captains beer get warm and had to walk the plank
We took a $4. cab ride (Canadian) into town and "partied with the locals".
Also found a place to buy Cuban's
Sunday was awesome weather, clear and calm.
Spent the day on the Beach back at Pelee and then went to the West Bay Inn at Kellies to look for "ThrillSeeker".
Did'nt see him, but decided to get a dock at Seawway and spend the night.
Got up Monday to another gorgeous day and ran to Middle Bass (where Lonz Winery used to be) to check the reported improvements to the Marina.
They pulled 1/2 the docks but the ones remaining looked good and now have power which they did not before. No showers yet though.
We were going to spend the $10. to hang there for a while but decided to run to PIB instead and give them $12. for the same thing.
Course got to PIB and realized where we were and paid the new and improved $15. for day dockage! Welcome to the islands!!
Anyhow, sorry for the book but I know some of you have been thinking about this trip and thought I would report in.
Other than still fighting trailer problems (blew another tire just N. of Bucyrus), it was an awesome weekend.
Took our pass ports with us and called Customs from Pelee and we were good to go for the weekend.
See Yah!

The black 35 that you saw was probably Joels boat, I talked to him some Saturday night, he said that he was going to sell it this winter, so if you or anyone you know is interested, its a real nice looking boat.

what looked like a 28' Cigarette or Magnum for sale in Marble Head.
Bright Yellow, w/matching trailer sitting in a Brokerage lot along I think it's 163 just S. of 269.
Did'nt have time to stop but looked good from the road, older boat I think.
