I wouldn't touch another Bayliner fight with a 1200 foot pole. Someone put up a post about one on iBoats some 15+ years ago now. I was dumb enough to be the second poster with a smart a$$ (in good fun) post. Then came the folks who though they were the best boats on the planet and even though I was referring to my brothers 1984 24' Bayliner that when you went over a 2 foot wake on a plane the top of the boat felt like it was gonna come off, I was still everyone's target. I was called everything from a hater to ….well if you said it to my face one of us wouldn't be walking out of there. This went on for years, like a decade plus. I am the last guy to knock someone else's boat and yet here I am ...stuck in a moment.

800 hp a side, 130 mph, on bravos no less.....

I would love to understand how some come up with these numbers? I have twin 550 to 600hp motors in a V drive 24 foot boat and don't see anywhere near those numbers and their boat has an extra 14 feet.

Is your boat a fountain? Well there’s your problem. Call and ask Reggie, I bet he’ll confirm those numbers. Better yet ask RIII and he’ll prob post his famous 180+mph speedo pic and say it was from that boat.

'Cigarette' stickers are much easier to buy then the boats themselves , it seems.

phughes69 11-16-2018 04:59 PM

But its worth $20k

35’ straight bottom fountain with radar arch, 118mph 🤔

Id give it 90. Those 420s doing absolutely everything they could maybe break 100.

Yeah, that’s $1000 per side for the engine/drive cores and $4500 labor to the termites for getting the stringers and transom prepped for foam/Coosa replacement. Standard rate at your local ‘glas shop. LMAO

So that whole “Baja by Fountain” thing lasted less than 6 months?

Just Say N20 12-10-2018 04:54 PM

Left hand rotation prop. Was that common?

F-2 Speedy 12-10-2018 04:59 PM

it could very well be a late production 09 by Fountain, friend of mine has a 2010 35 Outlaw by Fountain

phragle 12-10-2018 06:21 PM

Doesn't Baja own fountain now??

Pretty sure it is legit.

Actually very common.... on a Fountain single. Points to it being legit.

Funny how so many people go negative these days. The only thing rare about the CL post is that it is looks like a clean legit boat for sale and not a scam. Everything nice on Dallas CL is a scam and the rest is junk.

Just like everything in Houston is a flooded wreck and if a boat went to Florida once it was ruined by a salty hurricane!

think it is all just one blanket of iconic marine now with all the sub names (Baja, fountain, Donzi)

Fountain also installed single-ram hydraulic steering on all their single engine Baja's. I thought '08 was the last year you saw Baja's out of Bucyrus. Don't recall seeing '09's but there could be some.

Was quite the unique island car.

Sometimes I like to search "Cigarette" just to see what comes up ;)
Attachment 576158
It is in Miami though so we expect them to lie.

Had a boating buddy at a bar one night yrs ago when a guy walked by w/a Cigarette jacket on.
My buddy asks, "you have a Cigarette?" He says, no a Baja. Theyre the same thing.
Yes my buddy educated him ;)
