I'm sure we've all seen lots of blowers with fake zoomies. In fact, that might be how they got the fake zoomies....

Yep, fake zoomies, true resto.

Original Formula for affordable family fun?
1980 Formula Thunderbird 20. Same owner 40 years and all original. What's not to like for $6k?
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/bo...871397291.html "Very clean all original one family owned 20’ boat purchased new September 1979. Deep V-hull w/ Cuddy Cabin & Porta-potty. Interior and teak wood trim are in great condition. Has a factory full convertible top w/ zip in/out windows and screens. Top, windows and screens are in great condition and fully functional. This feature is priceless @ dusk when the sun goes down the mosquitoes and other irritating pestchy bugs come out. The factory interior cabin lighting is a very useful @ dusk and night. Good ambiance too! Original 260 Mercruiser 350ci Chevy 4bbl w/ power steering. Engine is strong, runs great and has been converted to electronic ignition for reliability. Mercruiser I/O Stern Drive w/ 21P stainless prop and spare 21P aluminum prop. Ride On tandem axle trailer in very good condition as well as the tires and all lights work. EXTRAS: Comes w/ anchor, anchor buddy & shore bar to tie off stern. Bow, stern lines & bumpers. Super cool water skies, knee board, tow lines and life jackets. When is the last time you water skied on doubles? Too cool & easy! Why spend $25,000-$50,000 plus for a similar style boat to have the same amount of fun on the water when this boat is a fraction of the investment. It’s time for another family to enjoy this awesome boat." https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...33487ee3c3.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9864f4be59.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2485bec2ea.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4975595019.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8e1ae07836.jpg |
That Formula is gorgeous Lars! |
I fell in love with the seats.....Poor sad little 18 Classic. https://boatflow.jp/en/boats/32035-donzi-18#723107 https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d915828c31.jpg |
Looks comfy
|
To be honest..... I was rebuilding a boat one time and the seats had not come in yet so I screwed a pvc deck chair down to the deck and wouldn't you know it I get pulled up by DNR for a safety check.

https://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/bo...886581947.html I don't have the wood/fiberglass skills to even start that kind of project. Most engine/drive replacements exceed the resale value alone. I had a neighbor redo a 27 Magnum years ago. He had paint/mechanical skills, had restored dozens of cars/bikes previously. Rented a warehouse bay like 12 X 40 and ripped into it. A year later he had someone rig it because he got too busy working (general contractor). Boat was just old when he started, it ran but it was rough. Within 2 years he had it restored, back in the water running strong (paint/refreshed small blocks). The main rush was to get it out of the warehouse bay that was costing him $1200 a month. He was into it for 40K including the original purchase price but not the warehouse bay. Used it 5-6 times, the warehouse he stored it in was a major hassle to get the boat in/out of (it was a big 3 car garage, boat had to go in at a 45 degree angle). Sold it for 25K 5 years later. He didn't use it, then when he wanted to use it....it was a huge hassle. Boat was nice but no where as nice as the Powder Keg 27 that was on here a few years back. If you have a big barn to tear into it (free), a winter or two with no plans and some skills it might work for the right buyer, but for most the project boat is a dream that will never get finished. |
WOW
That is quite the wrap around windshield set up |

Own a piece of Fountain history.

Bill Farmer seems to have been a quality conscious man and I was surprised to learn that all the 31 Excalibur Marine boats he produced 1978-1983 were Kevlar49 boats. The whole history of the brand is cool.
Courtesy of; Mr. Excal 11-02-2005 Location: Richmond VA. "Gentlemen, I just found this site. I have most of the history of Excalibur Marine. I am the son of the man who became one of the first Excalibur Boat Dealer's. It was back in 1974. My father, Jerry Allen was the Excalibur Car Dealer in Ft Lauderdale Fl. and had been since 1965. I was 15 years old when a guy pulled up in our driveway in Key Biscayne Florida pulling an 18 ft California looking jet boat. It was a dual cockpit deck. A lift out hatch covered the two front seats and you drove it from the back. It had a 460 cu in. ford in it and a Berkley jet on the back. It had the T handle Jetavator with 8 positions. You could force the nose down or blow a 50 ft. rooster tail. The man who brought it was Bill Farmer. My Dad bought the boat and I had many a day and night running 75++ mph with that boat in the Miami Marine Stadium and around Key Biscayne. My dad and Bill became instant friends. The name of Bill's company was Lighting Boats of Sarasota Fl. Bill had a foreman by the name of Don Able who was and is still the best Rigger in the business, I heard he was still with Wellcraft. My father introduced Bill Farmer to the famous design engineer and creator of Excalibur Automobiles " Brooke Stevens ". Bill had just bought the 24' X 6'.5" hull. I can't remember if this hull was a Jean-Claude Simon design or a Don Aronow. Don was a good friend of my father and Bill. Reggie can verify this because he was hot on the scene at the boat shows with us. Stevens over cocktails agreed that Bill should change the name of his boat company as my father pushed it so he could be the only Excalibur Car and Boat Dealer in the world. The first 24 had that 460 Berkley jet set up and it worked for a stable and safe 60 MPH boat. We sold several and then Bill got the 27' he called "THE RAKE" We put twin 200 Evinrudes on 2 or 3 of them but they would Chine walk badly about 75 MPH. By 1979 we were into the 31's. My father was the one with the old school love for teak speed boats so that's where all those teak decks were inspired and we never looked back. Those were fantastic times. We had some great boat stories. Bill sold Excalibur Marine to a guy by the name of Tony Nicallie out of Cherry Hill N.J. and he sold it to Wellcraft in 1985. My Father passed in Ft Laud. 2002, and the last time I saw Bill was in 1995 in Hilton Head at my father's home. Bill owns a great store in Highlands, N.C. and probably still does. You can't miss it. He has his car collection in the store. I now live in Richmond VA and own a pristine 1980 24. Very cool!
Thx for the history lesson Lars. I think I've seen all those pix's but never knew the history. Gotta love the old school lines. |
Not sure where this belongs but I thought it was far enough 'out there' to post. In Thailand, bahtsold is just about as silly as Craigslist. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/jet-ski-362448 (The asking price is about 2,800 USD) https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...48bd6aa92.jpeg |
Ironic that it is a Honda trolling motor on a Yamaha pwc

I’ve been watching the 2 stroke dirt bike market a while and ads like these are fairly common. |

Suburban convertible- I have dropped price to sell Lots of time and money in this one. $2300 of brand new tires and wheels 2005 Chevy Suburban Very nice custom convertible Roll bars Runs great!! Automatic Cold air cond 4x4 Ready for summer!! |
Why!!! |
I just don't understand people. How well can AC work with no roof.
|
Local used car dealer has had it for sale for at least a year. I’ve stopped and looked at it. It doesn’t have a soft top like an older blazer or Jeep would. Gets rained on all the time. I’ve been told it was wrecked. Rolled over, roof was junk. Not sure, but wouldn’t be surprised if it had a salvage title. Looks cool though and IMO would be an awesome cruiser. I always loved the old full removable top blazers. |
