That outside "Transom reinforcement" look to go all the way to the bottom of the hull.....so in essence he "extended" the running surface another 2-3" and thats why you dont need the k-lanes anymore! :D lol

The $1,500 paint job reduces the value of that boat by about $50,000. But, as I always tell my son in these situations, "Somebody thinks it's hot."

On the brighter side, he claims it’s a “one of a kind boat”. Let’s hope he’s right, I’d hate to see more Donzi’s like that.

That poor boat. That thing is an eyesore. It didn’t ask to be like that

zfrilly 06-01-2021 11:31 PM

Although old, this seems like a great deal for a new power boater.

Not a boat but what are people smoking? Got to love the $1150 CASH, what else, you going to take payments? You can drive and fix up slowly,,,,,,,,,,

I owned one of those. Bought it for $150, drove it for a year, sold it for $175, and that was back in the 80's.

nothing about small blocks in the ad. Original LS-6 = Big Block, and LS6 as an engine designation wasn't reused until the 5.7L in the 2001 Corvette Z06, and at that point the Big Block was already on to Gen VII in the form of the 8.1 (496).

Built from new Mark IV LS-6 base engines (described in Chevrolet PowerBook); compression lowered to 9:1; heads replaced with Merlin Oval Port;Inconel exhaust; Comp Cams stainless roller rockers; new Isky springs; ported bowl and short side radius work on exhaust; Comp Cams roller camshafts; custom chrome moly push rods; Eddie Marine Performance exhaust with stainless pipes and mufflers; Edelbrock air gap manifolds, hard coat anodized; Holley 3310carburetors; Malory/ Pertronix distributors; MSD #6 modules

Not all that bad of a deal, but I don't think it's a Scarab. 30ft. didn't have port windows nor the tall bow rail. The keel is a little too squared off as well. Maybe a Nova? ( Seat back had Nova stitched in it)

It says nova on the back of the front seats

It's a Scarab 300 with the 3 port windows and tall bow rail. The late 70's had them.

But he said this in the ad:

" The front seats were for a Scarab Nova, and I purchased them new at the Wellcraft booth at the Dania Marine Flea Market."

Learn something new everyday!!! That's what I like about this site, somebody knows something about anything! I had seen the 300s and just thought they were Novas!

dammmagnum 06-06-2021 11:05 AM

I had one of those Pinto's also ,, the same color, sold it to a friends father who worked for Ford building Pintos and he fixed it up like new, way back in the mid 70s

thirdchildhood 06-06-2021 11:04 PM

I was a mechanic at a Ford dealer when they made Pintos and remember doing all the recalls to install a plastic shield behind the gas tank so they would be less likely to explode when rear- ended.

DrFeelgood 06-14-2021 01:56 PM

Not sure what to think about this. I like the idea of outboard conversion but they went a little too fish-y with this thing. With the huge foredeck/cabin it's got to be a pretty poor choice for any real fishing?

Yah... took a chance that nobody will ever buy it after what they did to it. I think it could have been a cool rig if they kept it performance oriented but it looks like they thought it would be a cheap way to have a big CC.

I know the guy........he is a landscaper named Dave. He hacked a nice lifted 1500 crew cab so it could be a flatbed......except he left the factory bed on the truck!

Guy wants 45K for the hull, no power. Nobody is going to jump into that disaster for that much without the power included. In other news, if you want to be his neighbor, 5mm would get you there buuttttttttttt you have to drive by his house every time you go home (shared driveway) and he has everything under the sun in the driveway from broken vehicles to RVs......not exactly what a 5mm buyer dreams about

Any moron who pays 5mm for a house that small deserves everything they get. And looks like the ol’ landscaper is doing just fine.

That house for 5mm is on the water, Dave's house is not waterfront but has access to a small dock.

Real estate is insane, this is further west up the river, no blue water goes that far back:

32.5mm is 4X what it is appraised at by the county. It's a 5 min boat ride west of the 5mm house.

Some waterfront lots here are worth more with the house gone.
Clean slate, no mess. Some very cool old homes going in the dumpster.
This one is not currently for sale but when it is it will be knocked down.
