Any difference between these two fuel filters? 35-802893Q01 & 35-802893T

The 35-802893T lists all sbc, v-6, bbc, plus HP motors. The Q01 only lists the sbc, v6, bbc?

I was curious as to the answer myself. Seen this on other parts.

go buy the Wix brand or even the Sierra marine aftermarket brand. We cut these filters open all the time. the Merc and the same Quicksilver one is not even close to be best option. I promise I know what I am talking about here. I sell the Baldwin brand filters as well in which is another good option. Also I sell all 4 brands as its the customer choice. .

Similar topic, what about the two different Merc water separating filters?

BUP - By chance, do you know the Wix number?

There is a couple different sizes and some that have a small drain screw at the bottom so you can check for water, some are longer / more capacity - . I am not in the shop so I can not remember all the part #'s.. the one with drain screw at the bottom that has a bigger thread size than standard merc is 33357 - it will NOT fit the standard Merc fuel filter mounting pad thread size. it does fit some of the aftermarket fuel filter mounting pads.

here is Sierra's part numbers, you should be able to cross to WIX or buy the Sierra.

Sierra is 18- 7945 for the larger filter in length - 10 microns
and 18- 7945 for the shorter length - 10 microns

Sierra - Less restricted 21 Micron rating 18-7845 longer in length or 18-7844 for shorter length again these are the same dimensions as above but 21 micron rated.

Also forgot Racor makes good ones as well - use the metal bottoms that has a drain screw to drainwater or check for it with changeable spin on filter in the middle. Plastic bottom for the Racor's is for Outboard use, Metal bottom is for inboards / I/O's. it is a two part filter - metal bottom epoxy coated white holds the water - middle section is the filter that spins on.

I use the Wix oil filters, half the price of Mercs. I didn't know they made fuel filters too.
