It's unmatched HP, for sure!

Just when the UL class was getting good the sheik goes big because he's tired of losing.

Well, can't say I blame him...if I had the $$ I'd probably use it to beat the competition, and take the crown. For years, the old Geico mystic did the same.

A Beast!

What do you guys think are the odds of his driveline holding up to this much power over a race course, as compared to straight line runner like myway?
|
I believe the key is to try to cutoff fuel to the turbines whenever the prop leaves the water, to save the driveshaft from snapping. The turbines don't spool down quickly enough by throttling alone. Let the turbines keep spinning, just with no power behind them.

So what is the fuel burn on 2 t55's at wide open??

In calm water, 6,000 HP will make a difference. In rough water, it's probably just going to lead to lots of busted driveline parts. This may be a great example of how having the most horsepower doesn't lead to having the fastest (or winningest) boat. Then again, if they only push the boat as hard as they have to in order to win a race, it might work.

My Way is running T55s and did set the loto record at 224 or 225 so i don,t think they will be faster unless they can get it to accellerate faster of the start. the orginal geico turbine was callens with T55s those turbines are now in MY Way
|
From the pics I've seen, the exhausts on #96 hasn't changed, so if I was a betting man, I'd guess the T55s didn't get installed yet, and it won't be racing this weekend.
