502 MPI low pressure electric pump use on carb?

Can you use a low pressure electric mpi fuel pump on a carb? Use a regulator and dead head the pump? Or run a return line back to the pump?

These are used on carb set ups from merc too I just don't know how they set it up. Someone has to have some knowledge on this please???

I've done it but with MPI setups using the mechanical pump on the raw water pump.

But...if your's is just electic pumps, you can just use a return style regulato for carburetor pressure. I'd return it to the fuel tank. CP Performance and others makes a fitting that goes in the fuel tank fill to add the return.

You don't want to dead head any pump, unless made for it, and then they will work better and longer with a return.

The electric fuel boost pump Mercruiser uses for MPI is the same fuel pump that they use for their carb engines. No fuel pressure regulator used or return lines on their OEM stock carb motor apps.. I would set it up that way. Take a look at any of their carb app set ups especially the fuel pump and use that
