There were complaints (noise) in 2012. This is the reason I don't do Poker Runs. Not the PR attendees, but, the idiots out to spoil it by attempting to create drama. The clown could have picked another time in the day to fish in the main channel. We had a pontoon and two jetskis pull out in front of us (15+ boats) in 2012. i'm not planning on going to Lanier for the PR again.

This kind of stuff seems to happen at every run I've been in. In this case, there were several boats in the main channel when I went by. This guy was not the only one and it narrowed down the area to run considerably.
While I understand the desire to see the boats up close, what I don't get is the entire lack of common sense by hanging out right in the main channel when you see literally hundreds of performance boats coming towards you in a narrow area.
As bulletbob says, this worries me more than the guys in the run.
Also, anyone else have a jetski try to race them or stop and do a 180 in front of them during this?? I had both..
Mr. Darwin is calling.

Does anyone know at what point during the weekend that video was taken? It looks like sometime on Saturday based on the weather.
I will say, it does look pretty chaotic.
Boats are going in all directions; most doing so sensibly, but a couple are hanging it out. There really isn't any semblance of keeping lanes or "boat right" as in staying to the right side of the open body of water.

This was the Friday lunch raft up meeting place. That's why everyone was stopping. I agree it was close but not a huge deal. None the less it wasn't 100' per the rule.. I'm sure the dude heard everyone coming for some time before he decide to whip out his phone and video. The run was well put together ....but it seems like to me the DNR could make a sweep just before the actual run on Sat and push the idiots back out of the running channel. Some people got in the middle just to have the boats navigate around them so they got "the best seat in the house" Really pissed me off.. totally frickin clueless. ..OK. I feel better now..

Dan wasn't doing 50 mph in the video. And the video stinks of a setup.
