FWIW, this was posted over on www.lakestclair.net, a forum for the local lake community. Generally not an "anti-cigarette boat" site and emotions are running a bit higher than normal given the idiot Baja jockey that killed two people this week, but some in the Skater group did not win any friends.... (emphasis added)

Prayers for all involved. Yesterday I started out fishing out from Beacon Cove in about 14 FOW. I was in a group of bass boats, about 10 or 15 boats. I heard a powerboat off to the northwest. I always look because, hey, I'm a guy and they are cool. He was over by metro park and I could see he was headed in our direction. So i alerted my girlfriend who was sunning that he was coming. Her nephew paints Skaters so she is always looking for his boats.

I put down my pole and grabbed my camera thinking with my telephoto lens I could get a good shot if he goes around our group. He was flying. It turned out to be a Skater by the name of Gotcha and he went hauling a$ directly thru the group of us. I was the closest to him, he passed within 100 feet or so. Was hard to estimate because I was slamming off photos. I have no idea how fast he was going but that boat has top speed of 160 and he was throwing a huge rooster tail. Im guessing he was between 70 and 100. just flying. After he went buy I didnt think too much of it other than mentioning to my girlfriend that was pretty rude and hoping I got a good shot because he was so close. Im used to boaters going thru groups of fisherman on plane and its irritating with the wake and getting bounced around but nothing like this before.

I didnt hear about this accident until this morning and I have been thinking about it all day. My heart goes out to the family. So sad. And I'm more upset today about that fool flying thru the group of us than I was yesterday.

I just wanted to take a second to thank you Ronnie for being such an amazing host. This is my third year attending this event and I must say it's gotten better and better each year. I'm not sure if it's the boats, the people, the Egg McMuffin's, or the club, but whatever it is THE absolute must do event of the year thanks again Ron..... Who am I kidding we all know it's the club!!!!

I agree and was concern about the addition of 100 pounds or so per motor. Plus every time I ran it there were 2 big guys in back. With the clear windshields and or light tint on the boat you can set down in the seats below the windshields. Chris and crew in the above pic are setting high to see over the windshield and the guy in back is 6.5 or so. Came out great and I'm thrilled with the aerodynamics on how it changed the attitude of the boat. You're more than welcome to drive it yourself . You have a lot of 28 seat time and could confirm the attitude change for both of us.
