Low Water Pick up
How hard is it to install a low water pick up on a Bravo 1? At WOT running 75-80 my temp climbs rather drastically until I slow down then comes back down, current setup is standard pickup through the sides, also would consider through hull pick up
Thanks Bryan |
I have them on my Cig, no holes in the side of mine, just the slots in the nose cone, but possibly you could just change the lower caseing

looks like I either change the lower and go with an Imco or through hull

YOur problem is not with the "water pick up". At WOT, you'r not getting enough water flow. YOu have restriction in the lines or in the manifolds due to age. (probably corrosion, rust, etc.) You might also want to check the lines from the outdrive, (at the transom plate) and that 90' bend. Many issues there with crushed lines, corrosion, etc.

With that said and this may sound like a stupid question but is there an impeller in the outdrive or just the seawater pump? Had heard just seawater but need to make certain
