I wish we could get something like that going here but it won't happen.

In MI we have such a short season we make the best of it.

Ing 08-12-2014 09:30 AM

What part of the lake did this take place at?

olredalert 08-12-2014 09:59 AM

The raft off is in Big Muscamoot Bay or as people call it "the moot". The moot is between two narrow points of Harsens island, between middle and south channels. There is a raft off there every Saturday-Sunday all summer that are still about half that size or a little less but, hundreds of boats for sure. The bottom is sandy and waste deep were we anchor. There is a slow current always running through from the channels keeping the bay water fresh and clean. It's awesome!

Wow! Have you heard what the estimated boats and people that were there?

12meter joe 08-12-2014 07:13 PM

I'm not really sure but the word is this was the biggest one yet. A few years back we tried to break the genius world record but, not sure if it was achieved. I believe that was 2005 with 1,500 or so. Honestly I would take a stab at 1,500-1,750. Again this is just speculation. Either way it's a chit load of fun! I didn't see one bad thing happen from 10am till 7-730pm when I left.

buck35 08-12-2014 10:04 PM

How in the hill does everyone get out of a raft up like that unscathed after a long day on the water?
looks awesome though! :party-smiley-020::boat:

89gti 08-13-2014 12:09 PM

over 5,000 estimated boats. I was there and it was a great time, weather was perfect.

JohnAT 08-13-2014 12:55 PM

I was there for the last attempt at the record, this was Way bigger! I've never seen that many boats in the Moot! We had 11 boats in our group, what great day. The last hour before we were able to get out, we were entertained by the " I can't drive a Boat Group"! We were all laughing so hard that nobody got it on video!

The people with brains, walk their boat forward out of the raft line, get their **** in order, start up and head home. The dumb ones, well it is a sight too see....... When I do go, I try and leave before the mass evacuation happens.....

Nailed it.

rfgonzo 08-13-2014 08:10 PM

Oh, so you're saying I shouldn't fire up my boat and drive straight through the line in and out of people. :eekdrop:

12meter joe 08-13-2014 08:13 PM

That's not what I'm saying at all but, Some people frown upon that

That's what we saw, just let me know when you are doing it Gonzo. I will have video this time! It was fun to watch, a miracle those two Numb Sculls didn't kill someone!

12meter joe 08-13-2014 08:20 PM

Oh damn and here I was thinking you were just joking lol. Not surprising though and that's why we left before the madness!

JohnAT 08-13-2014 08:30 PM

Joe, it was way worse than you think! I wish one of us would have captured it on video. We sicked the Law on the first guy it was soo bad! Would have done the same with the second guy but they weren't around at the time. Tell ya about it over a beer sometime.

12meter joe 08-13-2014 08:35 PM

Sounds good. I'll be at the moot Saturday as long as the weather is nice.

JohnAT 08-13-2014 08:40 PM

We'll be at Woodward Fri.&Sat., not sure what's going on Sunday. I'll let you know what we're doing, Gonzo and I can fill you in when we meet up.

12meter joe 08-13-2014 08:48 PM

Ok sounds good. I haven't been to WW since I sold my car a few years back. I do miss the smell of the 110 and burnouts though!
