Shark week..

Anyone watching?? Been good so far.

12meter joe 08-11-2014 09:17 PM

Oh yeah! Every year I get sucked in!

happy hours 08-11-2014 09:19 PM

Tried to watch it last night, was looking forward to it because in the past I enjoyed shark week. Last night there was some show about a whale watching boat that whacked rocks in South Africa. Bunch of bull**** actors talking like shark experts. When one said "some giant shark going after his favorite meal , humans" I had to turn it off. Total crap, Chris fisher and the people of world that actually do research and science have to be disgusted. Discovery has jumped the shark (pun intended) with "entertainment based" and no longer factual based shows.

abmotorman 08-11-2014 09:20 PM

Yesterday was crazy cool. I'm officially addicted!

tomtbone1993 08-11-2014 09:33 PM

Yeah my wife picked up on that too, that particular episode seemed "fishy"

phragle 08-12-2014 06:29 AM

They jumped the shark last year with the fake megleodon documentary

MissGeicoRacing 08-12-2014 10:23 AM

We had our own "Shark Week " last month.

Yea I'm all set on swimming in the oceans. I'll stick to the Great Lakes and shark week from my couch!

I agree . Had to stop watching.

12meter joe 08-12-2014 07:22 PM

Yea I have to agree on those stupid shows. I like the basic documentaries on different types of sharks. The retarded "reality show" fake episodes are gonna ruin it!

Cole2534 08-12-2014 09:18 PM

You guys sound surprised that an annual week of programming featuring a single animal must be sensationalized to keep its audience.

Like, duh.

SB 08-12-2014 09:25 PM

I was at an impressionable age when Jaws originally came out. I have stayed near fresh water that has no connection to salt water my whole life. Plan to keep it that way.

Sun O Rana's are enough to deal with. These are Sunfish that you can't see but feel nibbling your toes. LOL.

tomtbone1993 08-12-2014 09:28 PM

I enjoyed the hammer head documentary...don't really understand what it was a repeat from last night.

Jay Gadsby 08-12-2014 09:37 PM

Decided to watch Sharknado today... better than the "submarine" and megalodon films. ^^Discover likes to add tweets to shows and label them as new. They do it all the time with Fast and Loud and Deadliest Catch.

12meter joe 08-13-2014 08:27 PM

Finally shark week is delivering with these guys trying to turn them upside down! Crazy bastards!

I couldn't believe the idiot actually tried that on a great white! Dude must have ate paint chips as a child! Shark week just makes me not want to get in the water but it's so hot... Why don't they show this crap in January!!

gofastlvr 08-13-2014 11:02 PM

yeah first he was an idiot to do that to a reef shark... Then he was a lunatic when he did it to a tiger shark... Last he got out of the cage with a GW I almost shat myself just thinking about his a$$ being the next snack for that giant swimming chain saw!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more, watched just one show and just minutes of the South African boat crash and it was all bull$hit. The problem I have with this kind of TV is that for the longest time Discovery Channel was once a source of educational material but now today, it's far from it. People watch this garbage and think it is real/fact and then form an opinion, I guess what I am trying to say it is dumbing down North America.

BIGSLOW 08-14-2014 08:34 AM

Once they started faking experiences and making up stories for ratings, I lost interest.

If you compare it to Jersey Shore, it's pure genius!!
