Who is coming to hot boat weekend at hardy september 5th thru the7th?

I plan on being there with the Daytona.

Are they fussy About noise?

No

I will to be there saturday.

I will be on the sand bar Saturday and Sunday.

I am running dry Lightning headers and the Sheriff patrol says ( nice boat )

One of these days I'll go to the event.

I plan on attending !

Where in Michigan is it ? How far from Chicago .

How big is the launch?

On the Muskegon river. About half hour north of Grand Rapids. We will be there.

We launch at Oxbow and have no problem.

The way this Summer has been it could be snowing by then....LOL

I have been going to Hot Boat weekend since 1978.
Back then it was just a handful of guys with fast boats.

I will also be there. I have 3 campsites at Brower Park Wednesday-Sunday lot #'s 149, 160 and 161. As always, everyone stop by and have a drink or 18.

Is dry exhaust a prerequisite? Because I'll ditch the mufflers! Lol

Noise shouldn't be an issue - Just don't be stupid.
They will look for a reason to pull you over. They will smell your breath.

How many of you guys know the reason WHY hot boat weekend is the weekend after Labor day?

It was because Labor day was the last weekend the sheriff patrol used to patrol the river. SO anything went. When the event took off the Sheriff became a bigger and bigger presence.

I cant believe I spent the 1st 20 years of my 50 year life in this area and Grand Haven and than moved down to sleepy Naples Fl all to miss some of the best Hotrod craziness you could ever witness.

I guess I missed the Big Bang. Not much happening around here other than some big diesel blue Noretec flying a Canadian flag running south all the time

Is there adequate parking at Bowers Park ? Or is it best to launch at oxbow?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "adequate". There is a lot of parking there, but it always seems to be "the place" so it's also the busiest. I personally don't like that launch..it's relatively short and steep (good for big boats) and the lagoon is weedy - I've filled my strainer twice there. Oxbow is nice and my favorite launch is straight across the river from Oxbow at Sandy Beach State Park…nice launch, no beach..go figure..The launch at the Dam is OK as well. If they haven't changed you can have pizza delivered from the HillTop gas station / party store to the Dam. A few miles south of the Dam the's a Restaurant called The Red Anchor Inn which has great food & the waitresses are easy on the eyes. Just a bit south of that is a bar called the driftwood which is a typical bar with bar food. Upriver at RiverRidge you can get food and fuel. I was there the other day and they are advertising "pure premium 90" which I'm guessing means no alcohol. Watch for stuff in the water if it rains all week.

I was planning on going, but I may not make it.. Thank you Comp for the quality timing belt. Not Comp's fault I bought it.. Anyway I have a cabin rented for 4 days, and a spare lot, if someone is interested in either, shoot me a pm.
Meanwhile I will be wrenching... :(
