What glue to use on a XR Prop Hub plastic strips?

The black plastic strips on my XR prop hub have come off and need to be glued back on. What adhesive should I use ?

3m weather strip adhesive. Available at any auto parts store.

I use the red or copper head/exhaust gasket sealer. I put a lot of grease on the hubs, and these last longer.

I used a VERY thin layer of 4200 and grease the hubs before inserting in the prop.

And what if you have lost one of the black plastic strips....will this cause the hub to be out of balance or other issues?
Also, I got a new hub sent to me with a prop I bought and it had black plastic tubes that were not attached to anything (and no plastic strips). Any idea on how to deal with these?

I just grease the crap out of the hub and just stick the hub strips in the grease.

Are these really neccessary ??? I have not had mine in for years. I felt they were just there to close the gap so the hub does not fall out when you pull props off. Hard for me to believe that little plastic strips have anything to do with balance or holding the hub as I put 900 ft lbs. thru it. :evilb::lolhit:

i believe you should have them in there.. i always stick them back on with 3 m 5200 never come off again ..mercruiser sells just the strips ..and also sells a kit with strips and the nuts and washers as well

I have the wife hold them and wrap a few strips of masking tape around the outside of the entire hub, read it on here so it must be right :D

That is what I just did with mine. Clean everything real good and a thin layer of sealer.
