Was cruising in 20 ft of water 4 years ago doing about 90 when all of a sudden out of no where the center engine reved up to rev limiter. Quickly backed off and shut down. Can't see 6 inches in the dirty lake water so we lifted dives all the way and I reached down to feel a missing bottom half of an NXT. Idled back on 2 engines and pulled out. This was 5 days before lake cumberland poker run. Was able to get a new drive shipped in and we installed just in time to make it down Thursday morning.

Damn brother.... you're close too. I'm assuming you're up around french island alot - never seen the boat and never go up that way.

No transom damage?

No transom damage. I usually boat on Barkley and Ky, but when I go to the river I put in at Mt Vernon and run between there and Evansville. I was just down river of Dead Man's Island when all hell broke loose.

Crappy CMI headers did this to both of our Merc 600's and all 3 Merc 700's. Had to rebuild all 5 engines

We lowered the Donzi flag to half mast after we blew a Blackhawk drive and the engine coupler after the engine mounts dropped from rotting stringers.
