You can have my 1996 24 Baja Outlaw for $24. Fresh 573, dual full helm hydraulic steering. Fresh paint and so on.

I don't care if my boat sells but a 24 or 25 baja outlaw would be a good starter boat. Really there are to many options really need to know what you want to do with it. |

Thanks for the advice. I have herd the "after labor day" a few times. And i will probably wait until then. Because realistically i will be looking for somewhat of a project ( upholstery & canvas wise ) that i can do over the winter, Use it for a month / month and a half and sell it when everyone is trying to buy a boat. I have a problem with keeping anything anyways lol. I really like the AT's maybe i will find one cheap enough in my budget that i can do a little work to and use it for a little bit.

The 20 outlaw 22 scarabs are good boats for $12-17k
I have a 25 outlaw currently (Friends all have 30+) I would say the 24/25 outlaw is a great starter boat that you can grow with for a few years. It really does a lot well and can be had for $25k +\- |
I have an 87 villain II but it's only 19' and I probably want more than it's really worth.

If your looking for a true rough water boat, or just a quality boat for that matter, you gotta look at a 24' Pantera. They are awesome boats. Well built. I would also look at a 24' Superboat, a 26' Corsa if you can find one. Those are great boats as well. In my opinion if your open to outboard power, I would buy a 21' Challenger or Superboat way before I touched a 22' Donzi. You can look into the older Velocity lines as well. You have to remember though, I am looking at this from the standpoint of hull designs, and what boats run better. Pure performance, Taking into account rough water as well. So if your looking for cruiser or something with a big cuddy then some of the boats I mentioned will not be a good choice. It really comes down to personal preference. Im not a fan of some of the other boats listed as options but that's just me who cares. An im sure that others aren't fans of some of the stuff I listed but I think all of us have listed enough boats to where you can narrow it down to what you like.

You mentioned twice about doing the upholstery as part of your project. How about posting some pictures of before and after. I have been thinking of adding some design or color to my plain white sun pad. Maybe we could work something out?

If interested, i have a Baja Outlaw SST that's lake ready for $16k

If I were to start over, Id be looking for a Donzi 22 Classic real hard. However, my CS does have a nice big sunpad.

Hello, I am looking for a good starter boat. Looking to spend about 10-25k. I am basically looking for a single engine boat that possibly needs new upholstery because i do boat covers & upholstery. Im 22, I dont need something that i am going to kill myself or go 100mph. Just something to buy, Fix it up a little bit, Use it for a little bit and sell. I was looking at older pantera's , Checkmate convincer, .Anything under 30ft. with a single engine I would be boating on Lake St. Clair in Mi. Any suggestions. Thanks Jordan
There was a Formula 242 needing some inside work floating around on Detroit craigs |
