NASCAT...is on to something. No doubt mystic is building a cc that u can sleep on. The market is missing the boat when it comes to having a cc that you can sleep on. Something,....somewhat affordable. Let's face it less than 10% of us can afford a cc cig or MTI. The market is definitely heading to outboards that are still fast 65+mph with sleeping abilities and room for 8-15 people. This is the new market.
I personally just ordered a new cc. And kicked it around very hard and long over a GOFAST. I could NOT find any good reason outside of speed and sound that could make me say GOFAST is the right answer. A cc offers so many more things that outweighs these 2 things...the high cost of owning a GOFAST just for speed and sound just doesn't make since over outboards and everything else that comes with it. The new NORTECH Monte Carlo 36 is the perfect hybrid. One bada$$ boat. |
I don't think Mystic would be looking so much at "affordable" as much as "over the top quality". Just look at what they currently build. The market for ultra luxury CC's seems to be very hot right now, and cost doesn't seem to be an issue for some.
Personally, I am kind of warming up to the CC idea and practicality, but as mentioned I (OK, the wife and friends) really like the "Performance Cruiser" type cabin such as the Formula 400SS offers. If some manufacturer manages to enlarge the cabin to include an enclosed head and 30% more space, then we might seriously give one a look. Plus, it has to run at least 70 MPH or it wouldn't be worth it. Just my $.02 |
Also, I would like to see a diesel surface drive model.
|
If you can live w/o the diesel & surface drive wouldn't a Cig Huntress satisfy your other criteria?
|
I think with the Motors on Brackets and Having Notched transoms they are all basically Surface Drive. Maybe they arn't spinning 1/2 the prop in the air but they still have a very shallow draft..

My bet is something like the MTI 42V.... Seems to be where the market is and Pier 57 is on record saying that's where it's headed. Just sayin'
