Ripped of yesterday!!!!!
Had an email from paypud this morning....
Told me my requested transfer of paypud funds to my bank account was being processed and to expect the transaction to be completed on or befor 8-28-2014. Um.....ok.....maybe I did something like drunk banking......so I logged on to paypud.....and discovered that there was an additional bank account on my account with them and that the transfer had already been completed. Hmmmmm..... So, I checked all of my Regions accounts and all looked good.....except no deposits.....and my paypud had a zero balance now....so the money went somewhere. The added account was from "Green Dot Bank"......come to find out. Security at paypud said it is not a real banking institution and is their most popular form of fraud. I asked why didn't they automatically flag anything from Green Dot, and they said their system can not pick and choose. I call Bullsheet! Anyway, I'm protected, and will get my money back in three to five biz days.....but what a friggin racket.... Be advised...... |
Paypal has become a necessary evil rivaling the automobile.
|
interesting
|
The scariest part.....as my REAL accounts are attached to paypud (verified user) someone could have gone on a helluva shopping spree on-line....and now Regions, ACH and paypud would have me in the middle of a circle jerk with various merchants.....
|
That's frickin crazy Rich. How do they just let someone add a bank account to your Paypal account? Unbelievable.
|
I quit paypal years ago. Too many horror stories.
|
I only link paypal through credit cards, not bank accounts directly, that way I have some sort of an extra layer of fraud protection through mastercard.
|
When I did use paypal years ago I had an entire account at a bank set up only for paypal. When I needed to buy something I deposited funds to the account then made the purchase. Now I refuse to buy a used item I can't make a transaction in person for.
|
I got hit with that a couple weeks ago. Called Paypal and *****ed. Got my money back right then and there.
|
Someone mentioned escrow. Com a while back on a thread, does anyone have any info on them?
hope it all works out cs. |
Your bank will likely allow you to have a second bank checking account for free. (most do)
My PayPal is tied to that account. I keep a $100-200 balance in that account, and in the event I am spending more than that, I transfer it over. However, that account is not tied to any other accounts for overdraft or the like. |
Had the same problem a short while back. They claimed the issue was most likely on my end, but they would cover me. Told me my phone most likely got hacked through an open wifi connection at a restaurant or something of that nature, and they got my password that way.

USPS Money Orders for buying & selling. As good as cash, cost is 1 dollar.

I had my PayPal account hacked also for about $300.00. Called them and right away they saw it was fraud and they refunded my money within 3 days and changed my passwords. paypal seems like a very stand up company, never heard of anyone getting scammed and paypal not taking care of it. |

Problem with that is it doesnt protect you from the seller where Paypal does. A friend bought a set of heads and used paypal. Legit guy, spoke to him on the phone and everything. Paid $800.00 and never got the heads. Turns out the guy sod the heads to 4-5 people in the same week! PayPal refunded his money within about 2 weeks.

Paypal stole $1400 from me for supposedly voilating their terms of service agreement. They said they were keeping the money in case there were any legal fees that arise in the future. Total BS. The reason they aren't secure is because thieves like other thieves. I would never use Paypal again

Long story short.. Guy on our pond sold a set of like new props on PP, buyer said they were junk and got his $$$ back, seller still waiting for the props. Lot of stories like that on here and other forums. Guess PP likes you..
Hard to beat it for buyer protection, but the system can be harsh on sellers. |
A lot of people have the same password for ebay and paypal. Many of the ebay passwords were hacked a few weeks ago. Best to go to a very secure password and change it every 3 months, do not use it for anything else.
