Maybe this isn't so bad after all

Was out this past Saturday, had eight people including myself in my old azz '91 42ft Fountain. No steps, not even a damn ripple in the bottom. Had over 3/4 of a tank of gas, two coolers full of beer, soda, and water, kids up playing in the bow, and there wasn't more than a 4" chop. We got 76 mph and climbing on the GPS before I had to let off because one of the kids lost his Lego in between one of the cushions. Bottom line is......where does it end? Where do we stop? Trust me......I would love to make my old girl run over 100 once, and I am dumb enough to spend the money to probably do it. Is it necessary??? We all know it isn't, and who out there will care that my vintage Fountain went 100? Nobody but me! At some point we go beyond common sense, and when that happens we only have ourselves to blame for the end result.

nice thought!

but still fun to go fast... or faster!

Hey 76 sounds good to me. Have fun, keep your money in your pockets, and remember.....for all those passengers know, you could have been going 100.

The only thing that matters is are you enjoying your boat
Time with friends and family
I know a lot power boaters at loto no one cares what boat you have
If they do you probably don't want to hang with them anyway

I say shoot for 99......then make the decision to join the century club.

Me.....I'm good with 88. Fastest I've been on the water, and that's plenty for me!!!!

Lego's are cheaper than horsepower.

I would have told the kid to wait until we hit 80 before I let off to find his Lego.

"Hey Kid, wanna hit 80 ? "

Hahahahahahahahahahah

The 76mph having to top for a Lego part of the OP's story is freakin classic ! Love it !

2 thumbs up !

Hahahahahahahaha
