hey Red Stripe,
NICE RIDE
Damn that thing is clean!!!
Next I HAVE dug into my engine BUT I just put GM's Hot Cam in my LS1
I have a 1998 first gen of the LS1 in the F body
I dont know what prod numbers and all of that though
Here are a list of my mods to date
Mac Headers
Borla Catback
Removable cats race pipe combo (almost as loud as the boat)
Gm Performance parts hot Cam
Hypertech
Nitto Drag Radials
Whisper clear lid
K and N filter
Ported and polished MAF
16 inch rims and tires for better drag racing abilities
Driveshaft loop from BMR
Lower trailing arms from BMR
Autometer 5 inch monster tach with shift light (can change shift points with hypertech)
Yank Super thruster custom converter 3700 stall with 2.7 STR
stock 2.73:1 GM 10 bolt rear
Note Installing cam I did NOT fiddle with the computer!!!!!
She runs all by herself with OUT the programming by cartek!!!
(so I drilled out the throttle blade in the TB housing so what? LOL)
With no cam she ran 12.357 at cecil county drag way last year
since I have a boat now I have no time to mess with anything else and I have put about 400 miles on her since last december at inspection time.
She has been a great car and exceeded my expectations in every way.
she LOOKS badass, She runs Badass, she sounds badass and I accomplished my goals of wanting a fast STREET car
one thing that ticks me off is after the early 80's trans ams and camaros emissions problems and a HO 305 running just under 18 second 1/4 mile times and the problems with the IROC's t tops leaking they went to the newer style, and then put in the LT1 across the board, they were getting hot with that then SOMEONE at GM (whoever you are , man I luuuvv you bro) created and built the LS1
If none of you have ever driven a car with an LS1 (Fbody, Corvette, holden ect) you dont know what your missing
they finally got it right after all those years and it is PERFECT
Oops have to make some armadillo gay ass minivan lookin aztek whatever they are doing
Damn it, why dont you trash the grand am or something or trash the sunbird plant
Fools
but like I said
CHA CHING
Jason

I had a nice pic of mine up at MAFB.ORG but now that site is defunct. I'll have to rescan it and then post.
Todd,
That Camaro is sweet!!
Jason,
One day I'll join the ranks of the mod'd LS1 F-Body. I just need to start gathering parts. How does it dound with that Hot Cam in there?

Hey Madcow,
That brings back memories, I had a 1997 30th Camaro SS convertable with the very rare, but available, LT4 special ordeded in it, 6 speed, that car was sooo fast. I only kept it about 2 years and had 4000 miles on it. The sticker on it was $38,900, but I got the GM discount on it, and sold it fora tidy $45K to a collector. That car was insanely fast, I never had it to the track, but It would put 3 car lengths on my friends 99 vette (or any other one) in first, another 3 in second, and than the ram air would begin to get functional around 70mph, and it really started pulling hard, and it would be gone. That car was so fun, That's another case of I wish I still had it....
My first car when I was 16 was a 79 T/A 6.6 with the shaker hood, dark metallic blue with the gold bird on the hood, and light blue vinyl interior, it was really nice when I got it, and when I sold it for $1000 it only had 58,000 miles this was 1990 or so.
Then I got a blue 1986 Iroc 5.0 liter t-tops grey cloth interior fun car. I cant remember those years that well, but chicks dug it... I put a big stereo in it, and the car got stolen twice and came back both times, stereo missing, and more and more trashed each time, so I sold it.
Those are my F-car stories... Red Stripe that thing is sweet!!! NEVER SELL IT!!!
