Which Garmin screens to order?

8000 series hands down, remember , even if you purchase the unit yourself, instalation can easily run 10-25 hrs or more depending if you get anything in addition to the gps. sonar, radar etc. I like the idea of a factory install, look at overall pricing, but remember to factor in install charges.

Most of the helms I've seen have 15" but I think the 12" are plenty big. 15" fills the space better but it just depends how you plan to layout your dash. Personally I'm into functional not fancy.

Keep in mind a couple of things. One for most of us age means poor vision. Bigger is easier to see. If you are using touch bigger means larger buttons and easier keystrokes. A plus on a high speed center console while standing and using equipment. Lastly with if you use the engine interface and will show engine data a bigger screen works better with multi engine boats.
