Then I think a wire from the push start button tied into the wire at the Safty neutral switch that go's to the starter should work. Tie it in an leave everything the same. But just thinking out loud. But I do think this would work. Artie

Crash boxes are still the most efficient and reliable way to go. If I am going to make a 36 Skater run in the 120s with small power I need every edge I can get. Docking is no big deal, my 32 skater the shifters were rigged backwards.I only shifted thos 300xs while they were running twice in 2 year because those few times it sounded like it was going to spit the gears out the case. Its easy once you get a hang of it docking just requires a bit more planing.
Out of curiosity, what is the HP lose between a crash box and shiftable trans? Is it that significant to put up with the hassle?
