Moving to Lakeland, FL area

Hello guys. I just took a job in the Lakeland / Plant City area and will be moving down there next month. I was wondering about what areas to try and stay away from as I will have my wife and 4year old with me. Oh and of course what are the places to boat!!!!!!! I have a 32ft scarab and would also be looking for somewhere to store it it's on a trailer so no lift needed. Any help is greatly appreciated !!!

I have a good friend in Lakeland that may be able to steer you in the right direction. He's a business owner with a wife and several children. I'm refitting a 28 Bertram for him ,so I've been driving there a couple days a week. It's a little over an hour to the coast ( Tampa, Clearwater/St Pete ), Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Sarasota are another 20 min south. Lots of GREAT BOATING AREAS and family friendly. Feel free to PM me anytime if you have any questions. Good Luck with the move!!! Bill.

we may be doing same move in 3 years when spousal unit gets her pension. (fed govt 55 yo.) nice to know there is a potential circle of friends to be found on here!

Good prices for homes in Lakeland may be worth the drive?:readinghelp:

Just a little further South is Ft. Myers Beach and the Cape.

I must say I live in south FL(Miami) and there's not much performance here but the west coast is great for performance and the group over there is the BEST. Fort Myers offshore is the best group of people you can meet. Can't wait for this yr coming to start doing runs with them.
