Ok, on a serious note, I had a 93 with twin 454 carbed mercs. I have quite a few hours in that boat. We were in some pretty nasty stuff on the great lakes several times. For the size, if you measure the boat its not a 29, never figured that out, the boat handles pretty well. Never needed tabs unless you wanted them. A lot of the times in the rough, I would just tuck the drives in and go as fast as comfortable.

without measuring swim platform 27'5" with platform 29'.1"

It's like the velocity 280, it measures 26.4' and 28.6 with the swim platform.

Yep, I guess how all of them do it.

Early 90's they changed the way they measure boats, and some companies (velocity) changed there 260 into a 280 including the platform, they shouldn't have as it is a bolt on, Formula did it the opposite, 80's had a bolt on platform, so a 272 + platform was actually close to 29, I believe 28'11 if i recall, my 303 includes the plat form so deduct 2ft or so and its 28 long, not much bigger then the org 272
